Summary: The Lincolnshire Wolds Way (Lincs Wold Way) was designed by Tony from Louth, a keen local walker who has plotted the route to take in the best of the Lincolnshire Wolds and keeping to the high ground whenever possible. He has deliberately broken the walk down into five stages though with lots of villages all around the route it can be extended to six or seven. (See attached PDF file which describes the walk as a five day trip). The walk starts and ends in Louth which is known as the ‘Gateway to the Wolds’ and visits Legbourne, Little Cawthorpe, Burwell, Swaby, South Ormsby, Somersby, Salmonby, Fulletby, Belchford, Scamblesby, Goulceby, Donington on Bain, the sites of Biscathorpe village, Grim's Mound, South Cadeby village and the Wykeham villages, Ludford, Tealby, Walesby, Normanby le Wold, Nettleton, Rothwell, Cuxwold, Hatcliffe, East Ravendale, Wold Newton, the sites of Beesby village and Cadeby village and South Elkington. (Note: where village is used the site of a deserted, proabably medieval, is visited).
