Summary: The Bay to Bay walks are two separate walks, both starting out from the village of Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. They were conceived and walked by Jim White, the creator of the walks who has written two books on the walks, the first being from Grassington to Robin Hoods Bay in the East and the second walk being from Grassington to Morecambe Bay in the West. By linking both walks Jim has in fact created a wonderful coast-to-coast traverse. From the nominal starting point on Piel Island on the west coast the walk goes via Morecambe Bay, the rolling hills of the South Lakeland peninsula, Arnside and Silverdale, the Yorkshire Dales (including Ingleborough and Grassington), Upper Nidderdale, Masham, the Vale of Mowbray and Fylingdales Moor to the North Sea coast.
