Summary: The South Hams Way, designed and conceived in 2025, is a 100 mile long hiking trail that circumnavigates the South Hams area of South Devon. Created for walkers by South Hams Ramblers, it incorporates a range of diverse landscapes: moorland, coast path, river valleys and countryside. Its highest point is 1,281ft, just above the Avon Dam reservoir on Dartmoor, and its lowest is sea level. During the walk a section of the South West Coast Path is covered, as well as some other notable trails including the Abbots Way and Two Moors Way.
