Summary: The Malerweg, also known as 'The Painter's Way', is a very popular long distance walking path in the far east of Germany. An inspiration to painters since Canaletto first introduced Prina to the world through his art in 1760, the Malerweg features forested sandstone mountains and dramatic gorges. There is also a variety of outstanding views throughout the walk, including picturesque castles, remarkable feats of engineering including bridges spanning abyss like gorges, and the awesome views of towering columns of sandstone rising from the ground like natural cathedrals. This walk is a challenge in itself while being a spectacle for the eyes.
