A long distance walk of 18 miles to the south-east of Greater Manchester which makes its way through the beautiful countryside of the Cown Edge and Coombes Edge areas. Maps, statistics and gpx route file for the walk are included.

Summary:
The Cown Edge Way starts at Hazel Grove and heads east towards Marple along the Macclesfield and Peak Forest Canal. After leaving the canal towpath the walk ascends to Cown Edge via Hollywood End. The path continues on high ground along Cown Edge Rocks and Coombes Edge Rocks where there are splendid views of Stockport to the east and the Peak District to the south and west. At Coombe Edge the route turns west towards Charlesworth before taking you over the River Etherow to Werneth Low and on to the finish point at Gee Cross.
