Love the website, used your route for Ingleborough, and although shrouded in fog, wind and hail, we still loved it.

Hi, I have been hiking now for about 6 years and love it but I have always struggled with knowing places to go. I just wanted to say I have stumbled across your web page and I think it is brilliant! So much info and everything I have been looking for and need. I have got a Garmin Fenix 5x now and I will be using your GPX route files as well. I have started following you on Twitter. Thanks again you've made my life so much easier.

Hi we downloaded your walk for the Cow and Calf and 12 Apostles walk. Myself and my 2 daughters enjoyed reading your descriptive account of your walk and were left on a cliff hanger when you mentioned Lil. Did you ever take Lil to visit the Cow and Calf? However thank you for keeping us entertained. we are now printing off your walk for Tryfan and we can't wait for the adventure.

Mike, Following your posts of the Great Briish Walk day by day has actually been better than reading the whole journey in one go. It's like watching a soap, episode by episode. I've really enjoyed the experience of walking with you "on line" and hope that in the not too distant future I can do the route in the real world. Thanks for all your efforts and conveying the reality of a major experience. Well done both for achieving the walk and writing up its key elements.

Hello. Thanks for such a great website. I live in the Midlands but often find myself in Yorkshire with work. I plan to walk more and your walks have given me a good start. One of my favourite parts of the country is what I call the back way into Harrogate. Coming from Bradford and turning left just after Pool and over what, I think, can properly be described as moors, through Beckwithshaw and until the A59 Skipton Road is reached. Anyway, thanks again. John.

Friends from university and I have been following a couple of the documented hikes from this website already. They led us through beautiful nature in Shropshire and Peak District that we would have otherwise missed. Thanks to your provided GPS tracks we felt safe and so far we have not got lost. With these hikes you are providing many people are enjoying a beautiful experience in nature. Thank you very much and keep on hiking!

I have been using these GPX files to drag my friends in university to the peaks on weekends, and I cannot thank you enough. We have experienced high winds on the top of Mam Tor, jumping across streams after heavy rain, braving the racing clouds and the occasional sunburn and have loved every second of it. Thank you!

Thank you so much for writing about it and sharing it with the world. It was a very valuable resource for those of us not from the Lake District.

Hello, I just wanted to thank you for your amazing site. We spent the weekend up in Wensleydale and embarked on your Wild Boar Fell walk yesterday. It was fantastic. Great variation and some breathtaking scenery. The Needlehouse Gill scramble was particularly beautiful and still covered with bluebells. We are a bit sore and sunburnt but very content. Thank you!

This website is outstanding. We've done five or six walks since February with my 9 and 11 year old children, so far we've got the kids going 11 miles and we've done the Yorkshire 3 peaks, albeit on three different days! Two days ago we took friends out from Grassington to Mossdale Scar and back via Kimpergill Hill following the gaps route. Loved it. Modern day Wainwright. Keep it up, Mike!

Hi Mike, I was doing some hiking research and it reminded me of some email correspondence we had six or seven years ago regarding the suitability of Striding Edge for my, then, fourteen year old. Your comments gave me the confidence to proceed and we loved it. He and I have done a number of walks since and he fully embraces the outdoors including wild camping in Scotland etc. So this is a belated thank you for what you started! Best wishes, Neil

Hi, Just to say thank you very much for the site and walking routes. I always fancied walking, having mountain biked most of the Yorkshire Dales for the last 20 years or so I thought I would have a change. I did my first route today, the Bolton Abbey, Appletreewick, Simons Seat route. 13 miles walked and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Cannot wait to get out again. Thank you.

I just wanted to say that we did walk from Youlgreave in the Peak District and it was really great. We managed to comfortably drive up from Cambridge, walk and drive back in a day. The scenery was stunning, as were all 4 villages, and I really enjoyed all the landmarks, such as the Hermit's Cave and Robin Hood's Stride. Also, lunch at the Druid's Inn in Birchover was a fantastic treat. Cheers!

Hello Walking Englishman, I have just discovered your amazing web site with all the beautiful pictures accompanying the walks you describe. So much work must have gone into making this website. I live in Australia but I am originally from Manchester, England and the Lake District was absolutely my favourite place to walk. Alas I can not longer do that, but I can imagine being there by reading your descriptions and looking at the accompanying beautiful pictures. Thank you for the memories and for the wonderful web site. Best wishes, Helen

Hello The Walking Englishman! Just wanted to say thank you for the fabulous resources made available on your site! The GPX files in particular are a lifesaver as they mean I can follow them on my phone easily via the OS Maps App and not get lost up in the hills! Any further walks to and from train stations would be greatly appreciated as none of my friends can drive and accessible public transport is a must. Looking forward to completing some more of your suggestions over 2017!

Hi, I would like to take the opportunity to say what a great resource your web site is. My wife and I have visited the UK twice in the past three years and tried to fit in plenty of walking. The information you provide has been invaluable. We are heading to England again this year with a week of walking in the Yorkshire Dales followed by a month in the Lake District. We are again using your web site! Thanks for all the work you've put in to make such a useful resource. Regards to you.

Thank you for an incredible site Mike, got myself a new walk partner who is a complete novice and I'm using your Derbyshire walks with a few of my own twists to them to improve his fitness before hitting the Lakes and Snowdon this summer. He experienced his first blizzard Sunday morning walking to Lost Lad from Fairholmes, I am sure he enjoyed it !!!!. Keep up the good work inspiring people to get out.
