Summary: The Ainsty Bounds Walk long distance footpath is mostly in North Yorkshire with a short section in West Yorkshire. It follows the boundaries of the ancient wapentake of The Ainsty, between the rivers Wharfe, Nidd and Ouse. As a circular walk it can be walked from any point, but is considered to start and finish at Tadcaster. From Tadcaster, and by taking a clockwise course, the walk visits Newton Kyme, Thorpe Arch, Wetherby Racecourse, Ingmanthorpe, Skewkirk Hall, Wilstrop Hall, Medieval village of Wilstrop, Moor Monkton, Nether Poppleton, York, Bishopthorpe, Acaster Malbis, Appleton Roebuck and Bolton Percy before returning to Tadcaster.
