Summary: The Breath of Fresh Air walk certainly lives up to its name, being a circular walk from Lancaster which features lots of river, estuary and coastal walking featuring the River Lune and the sweeping sands of the wide river estuary. The map and route files represent the full 22 mile circular walk though there are shorter route options of 4, 7,11 and 15 miles which can be seen on the Breath of Fresh Air website. On the 22 mile route, from Lancaster and travelling anti-clockwise, the route follows and/or visits the River Lune, Glasson, the site of Cockersand Abbey, Bank Houses, Cockerham, Berries Head, Galgate and the city of Lancaster including the Lancaster Cathedral and the Lune Aqueduct.
