Summary:
The Capital Walk Cardiff was conceived from a project by local walking groups. the idea was to create a walk which encircled the city from points on the Mouth of the Severn, either side of Cardiff Bay. The walk begins west of the city and heads in a crescent shape to north and east. From the start at Swanbridge Bay the walk goes through, or close to, Ball Bay, Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, Old Cogan Hall Farm, Murch, Eastbrook, Michaelston-le-Pit, Wrinstone Brook, Wenvoe, St Lythans Down, Old Coedarhydyglyn, Drope, Welsh Folk Museum, Battle of St Fagans site (1648), Lower Stockland, Upper Stockland, Pennylan, Pentyrch, Garth Hill, Taff's Well, Fforest Fawr, Nant y Brynau, Thornhill, Castell Morgraig (remains of), Cefn Onn, Rhymney Valley Ridgeway Footpath, Ruperra Castle, Michaelstone Bridge, Michaelstone-y-Fedw, Castleton, Coedkernew and St Brides Wentlooge to finish at Wharf Reen.
