Chairman's Walk

A long distance walk of 100 miles around the boundary of West Berkshire. The North Wessex Downs are one of the areas visited on the walk while the Ridgeway National Trail is also encountered. Maps, statistics and gpx route file for the walk are included.

Summary: The Chairman's Walk was designed as a long distance walking route around the boundary of West Berkshire. The start and finish is at Pangbourne. By following the route in a clockwise direction the walk visits Purley on Thames, Grazeley, Fair Cross, Calleva Roman Town, Padworth Common, Heath End, Haughurst Hill, Ashford Hill, Crookham Common, Goldfinch Bottom, Greenham Common, Enborne Row, Walbury Hill, Inkpen Hill, Hungerford, Chilton Foliat, Membury Camp, Coppington Down, Ashdown Park, Parkfarm Down, Wellbottom Down, Lambourn Downs, Washmore Hill, Fawley, Woolley Down, Farnborough, Lands End, Scutchamer Knob, Bury Down, Compton, Thurle Down, Streatley on Thames. Lower Basildon and Whitchurch on Thames. The route includes stretches of walking along part of some other long distance paths including the Thames Path, the Ridgeway and the Kennet and Avon Canal.
