Summary: The Cotswold Canal Walk follows the line of old canals through beautiful English countryside set between the River Severn and the River Thames. The walk is followed partly on the canal towpaths, partly across countryside and partly on paths near to small towns and villages. From the start at Upper Framilode on the River Severn the walk heads in a south-east direction to cross the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and then follow the Stroudwater Canal and River Frome to Churchend, Ryeford and into Stroud. From Stroud the Thames and Severn Canasl is followed past Brimscombe and through Golden Valley to Chalford and on to Sapperton. From here the Wysis Way and Macmillan Way join forces with the canal walk to near the village of Coates. The Monarchs Way and Thames Path at Thames Head are met with until the village of Ewen. Then the canal walk continues solely to Siddington and close to South Cerney before continuing through Cerney Wick, Latton, Down Ampney, Marston Meysey and Kempsford before ending in Lechlade on Thames.
