Dearne Way

A long distance footpath of 30 miles in West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire, the route follows the course of the River Dearne from near to its source at Birds Edge to its confluence with the River Don in Mexborough. Maps, statistics and gpx route file for the walk are included.

Summary: The Dearne Way follows the course of the River Dearne from its source on the 330m contour to the west of Birdsedge. The route follows the river downstream through Denby Dale, Clayton West, through the Yorkshire Sculpture Park near West Bretton, then passing under the M62 to Mapplewell and Barnsley. It continues through Darfield and then Bolton Upon Dearne before terminating in Mexborough.
