Grantham Canal

A long distance walk of 33 miles following the Grantham Canal from Nottingham to Grantham. Many beautiful villages of the region are visited and Belvoir Castle is a prominent landmark throughout the second half of the walk. Maps, statistics and gpx route file for the walk are included.

Summary: The Grantham Canal runs from Nottingham to Grantham. While no longer navigable the towpath remains intact and facilitates a lovely walk through the countryside between the two conurbations. From Nottingham the walk passes close to or visits Cotgrave, Cropwell Bishop, Kinoulton, Harby, Plungar, Barkeston-le-Vale, Redmile, Belvoir Castle and Woolsthorpe By Belvoir before arriving in Grantham.
