Icknield Way Path

A long distance walk of 112 miles in central and eastern England which links the Ridgeway National Trail with the Peddars Way and the Iceni Way. Each of these trails explore the ancient history of this corner of Britain. Maps, statistics and gpx route file for the walk are included.

Summary: The Icknield Way Path runs from the end of the Ridgeway Path at Ivinghoe Beacon, near Tring, to the start of the Peddar's Way at Knettishall Heath, near Thetford. The route crosses the areas of the Chilterns and Breckland, offers some exquisite panoramic views, passes through a number of charming towns and villages and travels along a number of quiet green lanes. The Icknield Way Path Association, who maintain the route have endeavoured to find the most suitable and pleasant routes for walking while keeping as close as possible to the general line of the ancient Icknield Way.
