Purbeck Way

A long distance path of 15 miles in Dorset which begins in Wareham, crosses the Purbeck Hills and then follows a spectacular stretch of coastline to the resort of Swanage, where the walk ends. Maps, statistics and gpx route file for the walk are included.

Summary: The Purbeck Way is a footpath through varied scenery including riverside, heathland, woodland and downland, taking in the Purbeck Hills and the spectacular Dorset coast. Places of interest visited while on the walk from Wareham to Swanage include Ridge, Stoborough Green, Stoborough Heath, Creech Heath, Furzebrook, Kilwood Coppice and Meadows Nature Reserve, Corfe Castle, Combe Bottom, Emmetts Hill, St Aldhelms Head, West Man Strip Lynchets, Seacombe Cliff, Dancing Ledge, Blackers Hole, Anvil Point, Tilly Whim Caves, Durlston Head Castle and Peveril Point.
