Summary: The Raad ny Foillan starts and finishes at the Millennium Bridge over Douglas Harbour. The path forms a complete loop around the Manx coast, waymarked with signs showing a gull on a blue background. The walk was created to mark the Island's Heritage Year celebrations in 1986 and generally follows the coast, passing through terrain varying from shingle beaches at the Ayres to over 1,400 feet (430 m) high hills and cliffs. The route visits, on the anticlockwise route and in order, the following places: Baldrine, Laxey, Maughold Head, Ramsey, Point of Ayre, The Ayres, Jurby Head, Orrisdale Head, Kirk Michael, Peel, Contrary Head, Dalby, Port Erin, Kitterland (Calf on Man), Spanish Head, Port St Mary, Castletown, Dreswick Point, St Michael's Island, Santon Head, Port Soderick and Douglas Head.
