Summary: From Lincoln running south to Sleaford the Spires and Steeples Arts and Heritage Trail across the East Midlands District of North Kesteven was put together to make it easier for visitors and residents to find their way from village to village to discover their artistic and historical treasures of the region. The name refers to the Spires of churches being the landmarks to which visitors make their way and to the rural sport of Steeple Chasing. Indeed there is an annual challenge event which follows the route. The route which begins at Lincoln Cathedral ends at St Denys's Church, Sleaford and in between the route visits Washingborough, Heighington, Branston, Potterhanworth, Nocton, Dunston, Metheringham, Blankney, Scopwick, Rowston, Digby, Dorrington, Ruskington, Haverholme Priory and Holdingham Mill.
