Thanet Coastal Path

A long distance path and coastal walk of 20 miles in Kent. Beginning in Reculver and ending in Pegwell Bay, the route encompasses the whole coastal reach of the Isle of Thanet. Maps, statistics and gpx route file for the walk are included.

Summary: The Thanet Coastal Path is a walking route which is waymarked and which is also shown on Ordnance Survey mapping. The path begins at St Mary's Church near Reculver and finishes at Pegwell Bay. In between the path makes its way across sandy beaches, past sweeping bays and amidst stunning chalk cliffs. From the start places visited, in order, include Regvlbivm Roman Fort, Plumpudding Island, Birchington-on-Sea, Westgate-on-Sea, Margate, Cliftonville, Kingsgate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Cliffs End before finising at Pegwell Bay Country Park.
