A long distance path of 37 miles in South Wales, which is centred on Pontypool, and also visits neighbouring Talywain and Cwmbran. Maps, statistics and gpx route file for the walk are included.

Summary: The Torfaen Trail is a 37 mile walking route in a figure of eight formation taking in the whole of the Torfaen Borough, from Cwmbran in the south to Blaenavon in the north, crossing over at Pontypool Park which is situated in the middle of the Borough. With over 1,500 metres of ascent the walk is strenuous though it also serves as a scenic walk which takes in ancient woodlands, forestry and country lanes as well as the open mountain tops of the area. From Pontypool the walk visits Pontymoel, Cwmynyscoy, Griffithstown, Upper Cwmbran, Ty Canol, Oaksford, Coed Eva, Ty Coch, Cwmbran, Llantarnam, Llanyrafon, Croesyceiliog, Afon Lwyd, Trevethin, Lasgarn Wood, Cwm Lasgarn, Mynydd Garnclochdy, Graig Blaenavon Community Woodland, Blaenavon, Big Pit Moning Museum, Forge Side, Coety Mountain, Graig Wen, Golynos Waste, Cwm Sychan, Charlesville and Pontnewynydd.
